STRIKING images of the human brain are to be broadcast on a giant screen in Cardiff’s city centre.
The BBC big screen in The Hayes will see unusual images of the brain captured by researchers from Cardiff University during March, as part of its Big Ideas events.
Supporting National Science and Engineering Week, from March 11 to 20, and Brain Awareness Week, from March 14 to 20, Big Ideas includes an exhibition showcasing the work in the School of Psychology on child development; the chance to find out about university archaeologists’ most recent discovery – a suburb of monumental buildings on the banks of the River Usk, and a family day in Bute Park where people can learn about the benefits of cycling.
Professor Hywel Thomas, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Engagement and International, said: “Big Ideas is all about sharing our knowledge and research. Our aim is to communicate how we are trying to solve some of the world’s big questions.
“Events are for all ages and represent many different areas of specialist research across the University.”
